How to Make Perfectly Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip
There are a few tips and tricks you should follow to make sure your buffalo dip comes out perfect, with gooey cheese!
First, make sure you bring the cream cheese to room temperature so it’s easier to mix.
Shred your chicken before adding it to the dip to get a fine shred. Use hand blender to help. I’ve even made this with canned chicken and it turned out just fine!
If you like creamier dips or notice the chicken is slightly dry, you can add a tablespoon or two of sour cream.
Mix everything together well before placing it in the oven, but save some of the shredded cheese to sprinkle on top before it goes in the oven. This will give a nice layer of cheesy goodness.
Optional: Top off with a sprinkle of blue cheese crumbles as a garnish!
What goes best with Buffalo Chicken Dip?
But really, anything goes! But if you want to stick with the buffalo chicken theme, we recommend: Buffalo Chicken Wings, Buffalo Chicken Tenders, celery sticks and carrots.
Otherwise, you can serve it with tortilla chips or on crackers, baguette slices, or pita bread as a spread.
Or, just eat it by itself, like I usually do!

How long is Buffalo Chicken Dip good for?
Buffalo chicken dip will last in the fridge for up to 3 days. We don’t recommend freezing buffalo chicken dip because the cheese can separate and it won’t be as creamy when you defrost it.
Why does Buffalo Chicken Dip separate?
Buffalo chicken dip can separate if it’s not mixed together well, or if it’s frozen and then defrosted.
To avoid this, make sure you mix everything together really well before storing it in the fridge, and don’t freeze buffalo chicken dip!
How do you reheat buffalo chicken dip?
The best way to reheat buffalo chicken dip is in the oven. Just place it in a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees until heated through. I like to add some fresh sprinkles of cheddar cheese on top to form that nice golden crust again. No one will even know it’s been reheated!
You can also heat buffalo chicken dip in the microwave, but be careful not to overcook it or the cheese will start to separate.
